The Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills took the field for a primetime Week 2 clash at Hard Rock Stadium on Thursday night.

The Bills maintained their dominance over the Dolphins in their division rivalry, blowing out the home team with a 31-10 final score. It was a disastrous night for the Miami franchise, which lost its quarterback Tua Tagovailoa to a brutal concussion during the second half.

Amazon Prime Video's veteran Thursday Night Football broadcast team of Al Michaels and Kirk Herbstreit were on the call for this Week 2 matchup.

Many NFL viewers called out Michaels for his perceived lack of energy during Thursday night's broadcast — specifically on the Bills' game-opening touchdown pass to running back James Cook.

Some are even calling for the longtime announcer to retire.

"Al Michaels NEEDS to retire," one fan wrote.

"His prime was unmatched but it’s time to hang it up," another said.

"Al Michaels has been mailing it in for years now. Begging dude to retire because the lack of passion is evident," another added.

Michaels, 79, has faced calls to retire for several years now. He addressed these calls during an interview with the New York Post last year.

“I don’t think I’m a lot different than I have been through the years,” Michaels said. “And if people you know want to say that, ‘Al doesn’t sound as excited.’ Hold on a second, folks. I’m doing the same game I’ve always done.”
