Dan Orlovsky Proposes Two QB's The Dolphins Should Pursue Trading For

The Miami Dolphins ’ roster is brimming with star power, and despite the season's early setbacks, it’s far from over. After quarterback Tua Tagovailoa suffered a concussion on Thursday night—a concerning trend over the past two seasons—there’s potential for an extended absence.

With the Dolphins currently at 1-1, backup quarterback Skylar Thompson is set to step in as the starter. However, Dan Orlovsky has suggested two quarterbacks he believes could keep the Dolphins competitive during Tagovailoa’s recovery, outside of Thomspon.

"I think they have to make sure that the person they have in place, if Tua decides not to play or he can’t play for an extended period, has to play. I think they’re a good football team, and if I were the Dolphins, the two places I would try to call first are Kansas City for Carson Wentz and Jacksonville for Mac Jones," said Orlovsky.

Both Carson Wentz and Mac Jones bring starting experience to the table. Wentz, in particular, was among the league’s top quarterbacks during his time with the Philadelphia Eagles . Since then, he has started for the Colts and the Commanders and is now backing up Patrick Mahomes in Kansas City.

Both quarterbacks would need to adapt quickly to a new offense, but the Dolphins' roster is filled with playmakers, providing an excellent environment for a quarterback to succeed. This makes it an appealing opportunity for either player.
