Rece Davis recently hosted the "College GameDay" podcast with Pete Thamel and Steve Coughlin. The crew previewed the Week 3 slate in college football, sharing their picks for some of the weekend's biggest matchups.

While Davis hosted the show, asking Thamel and Coughlin for insight on their Week 3 picks, he also jumped into the mix to reveal some of his predictions.

One of the most controversial games of the week features the Colorado Buffaloes traveling to Fort Collins to face off against their in-state rival, the Colorado State Rams.

Davis believes Colorado is vulnerable after an embarrassing 28-10 loss to the Nebraska Cornhuskers in Week 2. He questions how the Buffaloes will walk into their Week 3 matchup, both mentally and physically.

"I'm wondering where Colorado is at emotionally and mentally," Davis said. "People who listen to this podcast know that I believe Deion Sanders to be a good coach in terms of his core beliefs. But it feels like right now, they are on the cusp of an existential crisis...

Given Colorado's streaky start to the year, with questions on both the offensive and defensive lines, Rece Davis predicts the Rams will overtake the Buffaloes for the Week 3 upset.

"Just call it a gut feeling that Colorado is teetering a little bit," Davis added. "I'm going to take Colorado State in the outright upset."

Colorado is currently 1-1 on the year. They squeezed out a 31-26 victory over the North Dakota State Bison in Week 1 and then fell to the Cornhuskers in Week 2.

During their loss to Nebraska, quarterback Shedeur Sanders was sacked six times, while the Buffaloes' defensive front didn't record a single sack.

Colorado State, on the other hand, suffered a brutal loss in Week 1. They came into the year with an established quarterback in Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi and an elite receiver in Tory Horton.

The Rams lost to the Texas Longhorns 52-0 in Week 1 but rebounded in Week 2, taking down UNCO 38-17.

In their 1-1 start to the year, Fowler-Nicolosi has recorded one touchdown and 261 yards with a 62.2 completion percentage. His No. 1 option on the outside, Tory Horton, has posted eight receptions and 96 yards.

Rece Davis believes momentum is on the Rams' side, and that will ultimately help them pull away for the upset victory in Week 3.
