The Miami Dolphins find themselves back in a precarious situation after Tua Tagovailoa suffered his third career concussion during Thursday night’s 31-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills.

The moment left many fans and pundits alike with an all-too-familiar pit in their stomachs as Tagovailoa’s health came into focus once again.

Head coach Mike McDaniel didn’t take long to announce that Skylar Thompson would be stepping in as the starter moving forward, though the decision hasn’t exactly drawn universal praise across the internet.

One voice that knows a thing or two about the toll these types of injuries can take on a player's body comes from none other than Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre.

In a message posted on X, Favre reflected on the seriousness of Tua’s injury, saying, "Like many of you, I saw the concussion Tua suffered last night. It was chilling to see him blackout, and I had flashbacks from the hits taken during my career. I just want to send prayers to Tua's family and hope he recovers soon."

Favre’s words carry weight, especially coming from a player who’s faced his own battles with concussions, among other injuries, during his long and storied 20-year career.

The Dolphins, meanwhile, have a task at hand: navigating a schedule without their starting quarterback for the time being. Thompson will take the reins, with Miami banking on his brief experience from last year to keep their season afloat while Tua recovers.
