Former Alabama head coach and current " College GameDay " analyst Nick Saban appeared on the Pat McAfee Show on Friday, where he shared his thoughts on the concerning incident involving his former quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa , who left Thursday night's game with a concussion.

Tagovailoa was named the MVP of the 2018 National Championship, which he won with Alabama under Nick Saban. On Friday, Saban broke his silence to address concerns about Tua’s health.

"First of all, I will talk to him today," Saban said. "Tua is such a great competitor, but this has to be a medical decision. You need to rely on medical professionals who understand the circumstances around these injuries and concussions. Tua and his family should consider all the medical evidence to ensure they’re not compromising his future by continuing to play football. I don’t think it’s for me to speculate on, and I know many people are, but the family and Tua should not be influenced by that."

Saban talked about how great of a person Tua Tagovailoa is and how he has never disrespected anybody. Truly a great human being.

In 2022, Tagovailoa experienced a similar reaction to a head injury, which led to him being stretchered off the field. Fortunately, on Thursday, he was able to walk off under his own power and into the locker room.

Saban's comments were spot-on. While many have voiced their opinions on what Tagovailoa should do, his response highlighted his wisdom and leadership as a former coach. Listening to medical professionals should be the foremost consideration in this situation.
