NFL Makes Final Decision on 49ers Punishment After Christian McCaffrey Incident

The San Francisco 49ers caused quite a stir when they ruled Christian McCaffrey out for their Week 1 contest against the New York Jets 90 minutes before the game in their final injury report.

While the world found out right before Monday Night Football got underway that McCaffrey was out, several players claimed they knew as early as Friday that the superstar running back wasn't going to play.

Of course, if this was the case, the 49ers would have been the subject of a potential punishment given they would have violated the NFL's policy on reporting injured players. However, after investigating the matter, the league ultimately decided there was no evidence that would warrant a punishment for San Fran.

The 49ers could have technically given themselves an advantage over the Jets by withholding McCaffrey's true injury status, and for a point in time, it seemed like that was what they did.

After taking a closer look, though, the league determined that the 49ers followed the rules when it came to reporting their injured players, meaning no punishment was necessary.

The Niners have been much more straightforward with McCaffrey's injury status for Week 2, as the star running back was ruled out for their upcoming contest against the Minnesota Vikings on Friday afternoon.

It's all for the gambling money. Ridiculous teams need to tell each other where their players are hurting as if they won't get targeted to be further injured as a result.

Quit getting your knickers in a bunch, girls! There was no case and this is not only an absolutely fake article, the initial report was a lie and there was never an investigation.
