Jalon Kilgore knows the LSU receivers will be a formidable challenge

LSU heads to Columbia this week to face South Carolina on the road. This will be their first SEC opponent this season.

Jalon Kilgore spoke to the media this week about eliminating the pass game and the strengths of the LSU receivers.

With LSU on Saturday, they seem to be more of a passing offense with Garrett Nussmeier. I know last week with Kentucky, you guys were able to eliminate the passing game for them. So is that what you guys feel you need to do to win the game on Saturday? Take the pass out of it?

Jalon: Well, the plan for any game is just to execute. If they plan on passing the ball, we plan on stopping it. If they plan on running the ball, we also plan on stopping it. If they plan on passing the ball, I know our edge rushers will get to the quarterback.

From the tape that you’ve watched on LSU, has there been anything that stood out about their receivers or passing offense?

Jalon: We know they lead the country in touchdowns of completion so that’s definitely going to have to be something that we have to stop. Yeah, they’ve got some good receivers and a good quarterback so we just plan on having our guys do what they’re supposed to do and cover the guys. We just gotta play our game and I feel like we’ll be straight.
