Nick Saban Names College Football Powerhouse That's Making 'Too Many Bad Plays'

Since retiring as the head coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide, Nick Saban has become a fan favorite college football analyst. He's already gone viral several times appearing on "College GameDay," as fans respect his opinion.

He's praised several teams while criticizing others as his opinions have seemed completely unbiased despite his ties to the Crimson Tide. With Week 3 finally here, it sounds like Saban has his eyes on one powerhouse program for all of the wrong reasons.

Due to their lackluster start to the season, it appears Saban has some concerns for Dan Lanning's Oregon Ducks who are set to take on the Oregon State Beavers on Saturday. Oregon has so far struggled against the Idaho Vandals and Boise State Broncos but has managed to retain an undefeated 2-0 record.

Although that's true, Saban can't help but notice the mistakes Oregon has made early on. During a guest appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show," the former Alabama head coach claimed, "They just have too many bad plays."

"They made enough good plays in games to be a dominant team. They just have too many bad plays. I’m talking about talk for loss, penalties, get behind the sticks on offense. Now you’re playing how the other team wants you to play, and I think that’s been their issue."

The 72-year-old coaching legend also pointed out Oregon's offensive line woes as a reason for their early season struggles. Saban also admits the defense isn't playing up to par and must improve if the Ducks hope to remain competitive this year.

"[Oregon] hasn't been able to play the kind of defense I think you need to play."

Luckily, the Ducks haven't played one of the top teams in the nation yet. If they had, they might just have at least one loss on the record. Especially considering they allowed Idaho to keep it close in Week 1 with big plays like this .

There is still time for Lanning and the Ducks to turn the season around though. But they'll have to act fast with the schedule ahead. Oregon plays Oregon State on September 14, which is a tough matchup considering the Beavers are a heated rival.

After that, the Ducks have notable matchups against UCLA, Michigan State, Ohio State, Illinois, and Michigan. Now is the time for Lanning to get his team back on track after playing below expectations to begin the season.
