It was only a matter of time before Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark shattered the all-time single-season WNBA assists record. The rookie's historic moment came on Friday, September 13, in the first half of Indiana's home game against the two-time defending champions Las Vegas Aces.

With an inbound dime to teammate Kelsey Mitchell, Clark recorded her fifth dime in the game. This was also her 317th assist of the season, which meant that she surpassed Alyssa Thomas, who previously held the record for most assists in a single season when she dished out 316 dimes in 2023.

Below is a look at Clark's glorious moment.

Unsurprisingly, Clark immediately went viral after her latest feat. So much so, that even the WNBA just had to come out with a strong message to congratulate the 22-year-old for yet another milestone.

"Caitlin Clark dishes her way into WNBA history 🏀

"The 2024 #1 overall draft pick and rookie sensation sets the new single-season assist record with 317 dimes. Just another milestone in Clark's record-breaking rookie campaign," the WNBA wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

As expected, the Fever also had to flex Clark's iconic moment. The team came out with an even stronger message for their cornerstone superstar as they issued a compelling declaration about Caitlin Clark.

"the most prolific passer in the @WNBA 😤

"Caitlin Clark has set the all-time single-season assists record with 317 & counting 😮‍💨" they wrote on X.

There's no denying that this was a monumental occasion for Clark -- one that she will look back on many years later as part of her WNBA legacy.

For now, however, Clark is locked in on doing everything she can to help her team secure a victory against the Aces. Indiana is coming off an 86-75 loss against A'ja Wilson and Co. on Wednesday, September 11, and the biggest thing on Caitlin's mind right now has to be getting a win.
