In a scary situation in Thursday night's NFL matchup between the Dolphins and the Bills, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa would sustain his third concussion in just 24 months.

Tua would see a healthier season last season, but the season prior he would suffer two concussions in a short time span, and now has sustained his third in his short NFL career.

Tua would attempt to rush for a first down on a 4th and 4 while down 31-10 to the Bills, leading him to lower his shoulder to brace for a tackle from Bills Damar Hamlin. Tua could be seen lying on the ground after the hit, with his arm raising and fist beginning to clinch, which doctors have said is a sign for a loss of consciousness from the traumatic impact.

Questions have been swirling all day Friday about if Tua should continue to risk his health for his playing career, or if he should focus on his family and protect his health by retiring from the game of football.

His former college coach, Nick Saban, met with Pat McAfee on Friday and would be asked about the whole situation, with McAfee saying that Saban knew Tua better than anyone.

Saban responded by telling McAfee that he plans to talk with Tua, but had yet to hear from him nor his family.

Saban's response about what Tua's future should be lies in the hands of the medical professionals, and not the influence of Tua himself, or his family.

"Tua is such a great competitor," Saban said. "But I think this has to be a medical decision. You have to let medical people who understand the circumstances around these injuries, these concussions, and when you have multiple concussions, that's not a good sign. And I think Tua, and his family, and everyone else, should listen to all of the medical evidence to make sure that you're not compromising your future, health-wise, by continuing to play football. But I think that's a medical decision."

As Tua get's the opinions of the medical professionals, he will get a better idea on if it's worth continuing his career with the multiple concussions he has already sustained, or if it's better beneficial to retire or focus on a healthy life with his family.
