One of the biggest offseason questions after the news of Nick Saban's retirement was whether or not Jalen Milroe would return to Alabama.

The Tide would see big transfer portal losses in Caleb Downs and Isaiah Bond, and many speculated that Milroe would also be on his way out. However, after the hiring of Kalen DeBoer, Milroe would announce his allegiance to the program, and commitment to learning under DeBoer's offense.

On the latest episode of the "Until Saturday" podcast, coach DeBoer would join and discuss the tools that Milroe possesses.

"He's got some tools that are really uncommon," DeBoer says . "He had great deep ball skills a year ago that showed up, and he's shown that already this year some.

"Obviously, I know what sticks out to a lot of people is his ability to run, too," DeBoer said . You know, really meshing those things together is the trick, right. It's, you know, where's that balance, because we have other great skill players that we want to make sure get their opportunities to help us win football games and know, hey, the key is to move the chains. But when he moves the chains, sometimes that moving the chains isn't 10 yards, it's 70. So, I think that's the thing with him is just, you know, him learning our scheme and being more comfortable each and every day with it, which I think is happening."

One of the most notable aspects of Milroe's game we did not see very much last year, is his ability to make the best decisions. Oftentimes, he would run when it wasn't necessary, or force errant throws. So far this year, in the first two weeks of the season, Milroe has shown a little more comfort in the pocket and in the scheme of the offense, which is very good news for Tide fans.
