Calls Mount For Christie Sides' Dismissal After Another Indiana Fever Loss

The Indiana Fever notched yet another disappointing loss on Friday night, falling to the reigning WNBA Champion Las Vegas Aces with a 78-74 final score at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

The Fever got off to a slow start, scoring just 13 points in the first quarter. But, led by a strong scoring performance from Caitlin Clark, the team mounted a legitimate comeback attempt in the second half.

The Aces thwarted this comeback attempt, playing solid defense and making free throws down the stretch to take care of business.

This Fever loss marks the team's third in the last four games, including two in a row to Las Vegas. This defeat sparked concern for Indiana's upcoming postseason campaign, and inspired more calls for the dismissal of head coach Christie Sides.

Several Fever fans took to social media to voice their concerns about Sides' continued employment with the Indiana organization.

"Sorry but Christie Sides gotta go… you cant win with this type of coaching… last possession and that’s what you come up with? In the playoffs the Fever will get out coach every time…" one fan wrote.

"Many say those of us tired of Christie Sides are too hard on her. BELIEVE WHAT WE SAY. She's not pro level. She's hardly grown from last year, makes terrible substitutions, draws up terrible plays, throws team under the bus + more. Indiana Fever has no chance in playoffs w/ her," another said.

"Christie Sides is terrible at her job and needs to be fired after the game," another added.

Sides and the Fever will finish off the 2024 regular season with matchups against the Dallas Wings and Washington Mystics.
