It has been widely reported that the Golden State Warriors tried to make a trade for Paul George happen this summer but could not find an agreement with the Los Angeles Clippers. Instead, the 34-year-old ended up joining the Philadelphia 76ers in a four-year, $212 million deal.

That means that the 76ers are being considered title contenders going into the 24-25 season while it is uncertain whether the Warriors will even be able to make the playoffs after saying goodbye to Klay Thompson.

That also means that the pressure is on George to deliver. The Sixers are contenders on paper but they now need to translate that onto the court.

Otherwise, it would not take long for all the positivity around the team to turn into frustration. And Warriors legend, Draymond Green, has warned George about the fan expectations in Philadelphia.

According to Clutch Points , Green did an interview with NFL reporter Jordan Schultz, and the Warriors star said: "Good luck, Paul George.

"Aw, he better play well, or they're going to crush Paul George if he don't play well, oh my god.

"You know why they're gonna crush Paul George if he don't play well there? Because they already got a nasty taste in their mouth from their last three (small forward) that they had with Tobias Harris. They never felt like he brought it, so that's why."

Of course, Green is someone who has never been afraid to speak his mind. Further elaborating his thoughts on Philly fans, he said: "You know what the problem is with Philly though?

"Philly fans are harder on their own team than they are on the opposing team."

Nobody can deny that Philadelphia fans do have a reputation. The 76ers have one of the most passionate fanbases in the league. That does come with the pressure of delivering though.

After a long time, it looks like the 76ers have a genuine chance of competing for the Championship. The last time they won a ring was in 1983.

Several generations of Sixers fans have never seen their team be crowned NBA champions.

Naturally, there is going to be a ton of pressure on players like George, Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey to deliver on expectations and get them to the mountaintop after more than four decades.
