Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever suffered a brutal loss to the Las Vegas Aces on Friday. They've now lost back-to-back games, both of which have come in the hands of the defending WNBA champions.

Despite the 78-74 loss for the Fever, Clark secured the WNBA's single-season record for the most assists. She finished the game with 18 points, nine assists and eight rebounds.

Alyssa Thomas held the previous record with 316 assists in a single season (2023) and Clark has now passed that feat, with two games remaining in the Fever's season schedule.

Following the achievement of the rookie, ESPN BET posted their response on social media.

They congratulated the first-year star while describing Clark as "HER."

Clark has been "HER" all season for the Fever. Heading into the matchup against the Aces the rookie was averaging 19.1 points, 8.4 assists and 5.7 rebounds per game.

She's helped the Fever clinch their first playoff appearance since 2016. Clark leads all rookies in average points and leads the WNBA in average assists.

Indiana currently lies as the No. 6 team in the WNBA with a 19-19 record. While the Fever have struggled as of late, they've won six of their last 10 games.

The Fever will close out the season with a matchup against the Dallas Wings in Indiana on Sept. 15 and their final regular season game at Washington, playing the Mystics on Sept. 19.

Indiana still has much to prove when they enter the WNBA playoffs, but as ESPN explained, Caitlin Clark has been "HER" all season.
