Caitlin Clark was handed her sixth technical foul of the season in the Indiana Fever's loss to the Las Vegas Aces on September 13, putting the rookie on track for a suspension if she draws one more this season.

WNBA players face an automatic one-game suspension if they accrue seven technical fouls on the season. Phoenix Mercury guard Natasha Cloud is the only player to face a suspension this season.

With the Fever preparing to enter the postseason for the first time in eight years, Clark's technical foul on Friday sparked some concerns that the WNBA Rookie of the Year frontrunner could miss a pivotal game if she draws another. But a team spokesperson put some of those fears to rest, releasing a statement clarifying the playoff implications of a potential suspension.

"According to a Fever spokesperson, the technical foul rule resets for the playoffs," wrote reporter Chloe Peterson of the Indianapolis Star . "So, Clark would not be suspended if she picks up one in the first round of the playoffs in two weeks."

Friday's technical foul will still cost Clark a bit. As Peterson reported, the WNBA fines players $400 for a sixth technical foul on the season.
