Rece Davis and the rest of the panel on the "College GameDay" podcast recently shared their predictions for the Week 3 college football slate.

Davis was joined by ESPN insider Pete Thamel and ESPN analyst Steve Coughlin. The "College GameDay" host was relaying the questions to his panel on the podcast, but he also dropped some of his predictions.

While the ESPN analyst is going with Vegas for a majority of the matchups, he believes there's an upset brewing in Washington.

Davis is taking the Washington State Cougars to defeat the Washington Huskies. He believes Wazzu will put pressure on the Huskies, both mentally and physically, and it may wear out the 2023 national title runner-ups.

"With Washington State it means everything," Davis said. "For Washington, even in its current state of rebuilding, this is one of those games where, if they win, so what, you got to go to the Big Ten. You're supposed to beat your cross-state rival... If they lose, they're going to hear about it forever... I'm going to go with Wazzu man."

While Washington is unranked in the AP Poll, they are listed as the No. 22 team in the AFCA Coaches Poll, so this would give Wazzu a ranked victory from a Coaches Poll perspective.

ESPN is giving Washington State a 35.5% chance to win the game. Their current betting line is set as 5.5-point underdogs with a +175 money line.

The opening betting line for the matchup was flying around seven to eight-point favorites for the Huskies, so there's certainly some noise around Washington State.

Both teams have started the season with a 2-0 record.

Washington has victories against Weber State and Eastern Michigan, while Washington State has defeated Portland State and Texas Tech.

In their 2023 matchup, the Huskies narrowly defeated the Cougars 24-21.

Rece Davis believes in 2024, Washington State will get its revenge and come away with a victory against its in-state rival in Week 3.
