Concerns are growing for 89-year-old Lee Corso following his recent appearance on " College GameDay ," which highlighted some noticeable setbacks.

Corso has been a fixture on "College GameDay" since 1987, playing a crucial role in shaping the program into what it is today. His contributions have been central to the show's success, making it difficult for fans to accept.

However, many believe it might be time for Corso to step away, despite the love he still receives from so many.

    Fan reactions to Lee Corso:

"Just to get it out of the way: I feel for Lee Corso. His age is really starting to show, but you know he lives and breathes College Gameday. I don’t envy the people who could make the decision for him should they choose to. I really don’t." A fan posted .

"ESPN should not be trotting Lee Corso out. It's sad," one more fan wrote.

"I feel terrible for saying Lee Corso needs to go from 'GameDay'…he’s so likable and everyone likes him…but he needs to go," another fan uttered .

"I feel so bad for Lee Corso, but it’s really great to see the game day crew always being so patient, and always letting him finish his thought no matter how long it takes." One more posted .

ESPN has significantly reduced Lee Corso's role on the show in recent years. He now appears only during specific segments, including the iconic game and headgear picks that occur in the final minutes of the show.

Before his long tenure with ESPN, Corso was a head coach at the collegiate level, leading teams at Louisville , Indiana , and Northern Illinois , which notably pulled off an historic upset over Notre Dame during Week 2.

Despite the ongoing controversy and fans urging him to step away, the discussion remains complex. Corso has been an integral part of college football and the success of "College GameDay." The show wouldn't be what it is today without his contributions and impact.
