Nick Saban has plenty of college football knowledge. The former head coach led the Alabama Crimson Tide to six national titles and won another with the LSU Tigers in 2003.

When Saban begins to talk about college football, people stop talking and listen. On "College GameDay," Saban broke down the triple-option with Rece Davis, an offense that few teams run in college football today.

Air Force, Army, and Navy have historically run triple option. The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets ran the triple option under former head coach Paul Johnson. The program switched to a different system under former head coach Geoff Collins and now head coach Brent Key.

Even teams that do not run the triple option offense still incorporate it into their scheme. Saban talked about how teams used the triple option with things like the wishbone formation.

"Well, people used to run the dive, wishbone quarterback pitch," Saban said. "Used to run split-back veer, same thing. Now, it doesn't appear to be that way, but you can move the point of attack on the run when you run option."

Davis joked that it was almost like Saban had broken down film before.

"He's been so good at this," Davis said. "It's almost like he's done it before and knows ball."

Fans were mesmerized just by listening to Saban explain football to them.

"I could watch Nick Saban teach about football all day," a fan said.

The love for the segment grew on social media. It may become a regular part of "College GameDay" at this rate.

"I absolutely love this segment," another fan said.

Some fans just loved that Saban was not afraid to show his emotions. Saban appeared to sound frustrated when the defense blew their assignment.

"I love that in a piece where he’s supposed to be breaking down offense, you can hear his voice turn angry at the defense for blowing their assignments." another fan said.

While Saban is no longer coaching, he has plenty of knowledge of college football.
