The Texas Athletic Department backed up the Brinks trucks to put UTSA on the schedule this season.

According to JJ Perez of 247 Sports’ Inside Runner Sports, the Roadrunners will be paid a school-record $1.6 million to play No. 2 Texas in Austin on Saturday.

The agreement schedules three more contests between the two schools in the University of Texas system, occurring in 2026, 2028, and 2030. The Roadrunners are due to receive $1.7 million, $1.8 million, and $1.9 million, respectively, for those contests.

UTSA has only played the Longhorns once in the 14-year history of its football program, which resulted in a 41-20 win for Texas in Austin on Sept. 17, 2022, but the final score was very deceiving. Steve Sarkisian’s squad came out flat despite being heavily favored, falling behind by as many as ten points, partly due to a memorable double-pass trick play that Traylor dialed up in the second quarter, resulting in a Roadrunner touchdown.

Despite outgaining UTSA by only 51 yards that day, Texas would right the ship, tying the game at 17 by halftime, and played a much cleaner second half, outscoring its opponent 24-3.

The Longhorns (2-0) will face UTSA (1-1) on Saturday, with kickoff scheduled for 6 p.m. CT at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.

Didn't know you got paid millions just to take an a$$ whooping, 🤣. Do you get paid double if you happen to win?
