Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers suffered an unidentified injury during Saturday's game against UTSA and will not return. Ewers had two passing touchdowns in the first quarter, but an apparent non-contact injury led to his leaving the game.

After heading to the locker room, Ewers is back on the sidelines in street clothes and will not return on Saturday. We won't speculate on the injury details, but he looked devastated and was seen on the sideline rubbing his ribs area.

Luckily, Texas is in good hands with backup quarterback Arch Manning. The redshirt freshman phenom threw for a touchdown on his first pass attempt of the game in relief of Ewers before adding another touchdown on the ground.

Ewers had a phenomenal start to the season, throwing for six touchdowns through the first two games and adding two more today. Texas fans will have mixed emotions, as it's certainly exciting to see Manning get more extended reps, but our thoughts are with Ewers.

According to head coach Steve Sarkisian, Ewers has a "strained abdomen," which does not sound like a severe injury. The Longhorns have time before their games against Oklahoma and Georgia to assess Ewers' health and don't need to rush him back to the field with Manning taking over in relief.
