Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning caught the eye of former Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III with a breathtaking play he made on Saturday, September 14.

Manning entered the game against UTSA Roadrunners in relief of the injured Quinn Ewers during the second quarter and immediately went to work. He first threw for a TD, hitting wide receiver DeAndre Moore Jr. for 19-yard strike. Then, just 1 minute and 3 seconds later on the game clock, Manning ripped off a 67-yard touchdown run to put the Longhorns ahead 28-0.

Griffin, a college football analyst who won the Heisman as quarterback for the Baylor Bears in 2011, took to social media and praised the play with a reaction that has since gone viral.

"Arch Manning got EVERY OUNCE of Manning athleticism in the UNIVERSE and some," Griffin exclaimed . "He a brother from a different mother."

It is unclear if Griffin was playfully dissing the last generation of Manning family QBs and their widely perceived lack of athleticism. Of course, he may also have simply been comparing Arch Manning's skills running the football to his own, which helped Griffin become the second overall pick of the Washington Commanders in the 2012 NFL draft.

In either case, both Peyton Manning and Eli Manning won two Super Bowls during their careers, and both are highly likely to be members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame by the time everything is said and done. Peyton Manning is already in the Hall, inducted in 2021, while Eli Manning becomes eligible for induction next year.

Arch Manning has a long way to go before following in their footsteps. However, he got off to a good start Saturday by completing 9-of-12 passes for 223 yards and 4 scores to go along with an impressive rushing TD in the Longhorns' 56-7 victory.

It remains to be seen if Arch Manning will start for Texas next week as well, or if Ewers will be back in the lineup against UL Monroe -- but let the debates over who should be QB1 commence.
