Shedeur Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes took down their rival, the Colorado State Rams, by a score of 28-9 on Saturday night in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Shedeur, the son of Deion Sanders, had a strong showing, completing 36 of 49 passes for 310 yards and four touchdowns.

After finishing as the most-sacked quarterback in 2023, Sanders was sacked six times against Nebraska in Colorado's 28-10 Week 2 loss.

Though CSU only recorded one sack on Sanders on Saturday, one play caught the eye of many, including CBS Sports' rules analyst Gene Steratore, a former NFL referee.

"I would've supported a targeting foul on that play," Steratore said, referring to the moment when Colorado State defensive end Andrew Laurich took down Sanders after having already thrown the ball. Interestingly, there was no whistle on the play that could have been a targeting call.

For what it's worth, it's not only Gene Steratore who thought that the non-targeting call was questionable. Several fans took to social media to highlight how "ridiculous" it was, especially considering how dangerous it looked.

"Ridiculous, given recent concussions," a commenter said. Another critic agreed, "That was ridiculous."

An NFL fan account added , "This seems like Rams Laurich guy could have gotten ejected for this challenge on Shedeur Sanders."

"How in the hell isn’t that Laurich guy not thrown out the game for that CLEAR CROWN TO THE HELMET hit on Shedeur Sanders??? With all the bulls**t targeting ejections that are given, how isn’t THAT a targeting ejection ????" an angry fan exclaimed.

Sure enough, it is not a good look for college football and its referees. Earlier in the day, the officiating crew was also questioned after the LSU Tigers came from behind to beat the South Carolina Gamecocks, thanks in large part to some questionable calls in favor of Brian Kelly's men.

Funny, even the white racist who hate Colorado know this was targeting. That's funny!
