Vikings superstar WR Justin Jefferson sets multiple records against 49ers

There aren’t many more superlatives to use for Minnesota Vikings superstar wide receiver Justin Jefferson.

He’s already set numerous records in his career, including:

    • Most catches (324) and receiving yards (4,825) in NFL history in a player’s first three seasons,
    • Most receiving yards in NFL history in a player’s first four seasons (5,512), and
    • Most career games with at least 150 receiving yards in a player’s first four seasons (11).

In the first half of Minnesota’s game on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers, he added to that list.

With his 97-yard touchdown — the longest touchdown play in the league since 2022 — he surpassed 6,000 yards in his career. Being in his 62nd NFL game, he tied the record for reaching that milestone as quickly as he did.

He also hauled in his 400th career catch, becoming the third-fastest player to reach that milestone, behind only Michael Thomas (56) and Odell Beckham Jr. (61).

Finally, he had 133 receiving yards in the first half alone, giving him his 30th 100-yard receiving game of his career and making him the fastest in NFL history to reach that mark, ahead of Football Hall of Famer Lance Alworth, who did it in 64 games.

He’s still just 25 years old but Jefferson continues to rewrite the record books and likely has more in his sights.
