Demand Grows to Replace Bryce Young After Sunday's Embarrassment

Not much is going right for the Carolina Panthers right now. That includes prized 2023 No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young.

David Tepper's squad dropped to 0-2 on the young season following a 26-3 blowout loss at home to the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday. Young finished the game with 84 passing yards and an interception on 18-of-26 passing. Overall, the Panthers offense mustered 159 yards and seven first downs.

Panthers veteran wide receiver Adam Thielen was also visibility frustrated in the third quarter after not receiving the ball while running a wide-open route down the field.

With little hope in sight, demand is growing for the Panthers to bench their 23-year-old starting quarterback.

"The experiment is over imo," wrote former NFL quarterback Kurt Benkert.

"Bryce Young needs to be benched," NFL aggregator account Dov Kleiman posted .

"If Dave Canales keeps playing Bryce Young, he risks alienating the locker room and the fan base -- and further bludgeoning Young's confidence," wrote The Athletic's Joe Person.

"Nah Bryce Young is cooked. Bro literally looked right into double coverage and threw the ball anyways," another fan said .

Young's rookie season left much to be desired as well. In 16 games, the 5-foot-10, 204-pound passer completed 59.8% of his passes for 2,877 yards and an 11-to-10 touchdown-to-interception ratio.
