Wings Player Receives Flagrant Foul After Striking Caitlin Clark In The Face

Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever snapped a two-game losing streak on Sunday after securing a 110-109 victory over the Dallas Wings.

While much of the attention has been on the success of Indiana attaining a 20-win season, advancing to 20-19 on the year, there was also a dark side to the game.

During the matchup, Clark was driving into the basket on a fast break. As she went up for a layup, Wings player Kalani Brown hit Clark across the head. While Brown initially made contact with the ball, her follow through on the play got her in trouble.

After it was called a common foul on the floor, Brown's hit on Clark was upgraded to a flagrant one.

Despite the physicality against Clark, the rookie was still able to post 35 points, eight assists and two rebounds. She led all scorers in Indiana's final home game of the regular season.

Clark was joined by Kelsey Mitchell in the 30-point club as the WNBA veteran recorded 30 points and one assist.

Both Clark and Mitchell have led the Fever to their first 20-win season since 2015.

They've also helped put the Fever in position to compete for a WNBA title, having clinched a spot in the playoffs for the first time since 2016.

Indiana is currently ranked as the No. 6 team in the WNBA standings, having won seven of their last 10 games.
