Cowboys Star Micah Parsons Sounds Off on Social Media After Blowout Loss

Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons doesn't want defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer to take the blame for the team's 44-19 loss to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.

The Saints racked up 432 yards of total offense against the Cowboys and punted just once in the matchup. That came in the fourth quarter with the game well out of reach for the Cowboys.

Dallas was gashed by big plays, including touchdowns of 57 and 70 yards.

Zimmer is in his first year as the Cowboys defensive coordinator, taking over for Dan Quinn, who is now with the Washington Commanders. Parsons came to the defense of his coach on social media shortly after the game wrapped up.

The All-Pro pass-rusher responded to a comment that read: "Allowing the opponent to score a touchdown on literally every possession is an interesting strategy choice from Mike Zimmer."

"S--t ain’t have nothing to do with zim but everything on us!! Zim ain’t the one playing!" Parsons responded .

Parsons was reiterating the stance he took in his postgame comments .

“To me, it had nothing to do with the scheme. I thought (Mike Zimmer) called a pretty good game," Parsons said, per Jon Machota of The Athletic. "At the end of the day, I just believe we got outplayed. Whoever played on that field, everyone didn’t play to 100%. That’s just me being accountable and saying the truth. We all got to play better."

The Cowboys' defense, which looked elite in their season opener against the Cleveland Browns, took a surprising step back in their latest performance. In that first game, Dallas consistently pressured the quarterback, shutting down Cleveland’s offense and preventing any momentum from building.

Parsons and the Cowboys will look to get on track next week against the Baltimore Ravens.
