Texas climbed one spot in the AP Top 25 Poll following Week 3 and are now the No. 1 team in the country. It marks the first time the Longhorns have held the No. 1 spot in the ranking since 2008.

The Longhorns dominated UTSA on Saturday 56-7 behind an impressive performance from backup quarterback Arch Manning. Georgia, who previously held the No. 1 spot in the AP Poll, struggled against Kentucky in Week 3. The Bulldogs narrowly defeated the Wildcats 13-12 in Lexington.

With Georgia's close call coupled with Texas' dominate performance, many expected the Longhorns to rise in updated polls this week. However, it will be interesting to see if Texas can keep up the consistent level of play if starting quarterback Quinn Ewers is sidelined for several games due to an abdominal strain.

The Longhorns will host unranked Louisiana-Monroe in Week 4, a chance for Ewers to rest before Texas begins SEC play on Sept. 28.

Six SEC teams are ranked within the top-10 in the latest AP Poll. Ohio State (No. 3), Alabama (No. 4), Ole Miss (No. 5), Tennessee (No. 6), Missouri (No. 7), Miami (No. 8), Oregon (No. 9) and Penn State (No. 10) followed Texas and Georgia in the ranking this week.
