Brian Daboll Is Fully To Blame for Latest Giants Loss

The New York Giants have started a season 0-2 for the first time under head coach Brian Daboll. While their Week 1 loss didn't instill much confidence in the group, it was their Week 2 loss that might be the most embarrassing of all.

New York became the second team in NFL history to score three touchdowns, keep their opponent out of the end zone, and still lose the game in their 21-18 loss to the Washington Commanders on Sunday.

And Daboll deserves all the blame for that.

A big reason why New York could not truly capitalize on their touchdowns is because kicker Graham Gano was dealing with a groin injury before the game, and actually suffered a hamstring injury during.

New York couldn't kick field goals or PATs because of that.

That isn't much of an excuse for Daboll and his staff, though. For starters, New York knew about Gano's injury all week. The fact they had no contingency planned is an unacceptable oversight that shows a lack of preparation and stability in the franchise.

If this whole issue sounds familiar, it's also because New York went through this exact same problem in 2023. The fact that Daboll did not learn from the team's mistakes in the year prior is unbecoming of an NFL head coach.

Daboll deserves full blame for the Giants 0-2 start. In the season opener, he didn't have his team ready to play.

In their latest loss to Washington, he was the sole reason the team fell to a rival that didn't even score a touchdown.
