New York Knicks Sign Former Philadelphia 76ers Player

The Philadelphia 76ers have a lot to be happy about when it comes to their 2024 offseason. They have added Paul George, Caleb Martin, Andre Drummond and more to their roster and are being considered one of the favourites heading into the 24-25 season.

Of course, the 76ers are not the only team who have gotten some work done this summer. The New York Knicks seem to have improved as well, after already looking like contenders last season.

In fact, the Knicks got the better of the 76ers in the playoffs in a close 4-2 series. They have added the likes of Mikal Bridges and Cameron Payne since then.

Payne is not the only former Sixer who could be turning out for the Knicks next season either.

The Knicks have signed Marcus Morris Sr. to an Exhibit 9 contract as well. They brought in Landry Shamet on such a deal recently.

Both will now have the chance to make the Knicks roster. An Exhibit 9 contract is essentially a training camp invite.

The 76ers had brought in Morris last year as part of the trade that saw James Harden head to the Los Angeles Clippers. The Philadelphia native did not get to spend the whole season in his hometown though, as he was traded to the San Antonio Spurs in February.

Morris did not play any games for the Spurs and was waived by them. He would go on to spend the rest of the season with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

There was some discussion in the media this summer about the 76ers potentially bringing back Morris. He could have added something to the team for sure but it did not happen.

Instead, he has ended up with the Knicks. Let's see if the veteran can earn himself a spot on their roster.
