Mike Norvell Taking Heat For Florida State Quarterback Comments

There is no question that the Florida State Seminoles are off to a disappointing start in their 2024 season. The Seminoles, who came into the season ranked in the top 10, have lost their first three games.

A big reason for the slow start has been the play of quarterback DJ Uiagalelei. Uiagalelei has completed 56.6% of his passes for 222 yards per game, with one touchdown and two interceptions.

Florida State has one of the worst offenses in the sport, ranking No. 128 in total offense, No. 74 in passing offense and No. 124 in scoring offense. Head coach Mike Norvell defended his quarterback on Monday, expressing satisfaction with Uiagalelei's preparation and stating that despite a rough start to the year, Uiagalelei is "giving us a chance."

This prompted fans to criticize the coach's remarks. One fan stated, "0-3 is not much of a chance," while a couple of others believe Uiagalelei could lead Florida State to a winless season.
