I think a lot of NFL fans are feeling the same way as Houston Texans legend JJ Watt on Monday afternoon.

Just minutes after the Carolina Panthers made the shocking announcement that they would be benching former No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young and starting veteran quarterback Andy Dalton in his place, Watt expressed his surprise with one word.

    "WOW," Watt said on X.

That is certainly a common reaction among NFL fans after the news came to light. Young has played in 18 career games with the Panthers, going 2-16 in those starts. He's completed 346-of-583 career passes (59.3%) for 3,122 yards, 11 TDs, and 13 INTs.

In Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Chargers, another blowout loss, Young went 18-for-26 for 84 yards, 0 TDs, and 1 INT. After the performance, the decision-makers in Carolina decided that enough was enough, and it was time for Young to see the bench.

What the Panthers do next will be interesting. Young famously won the Heisman Trophy with the Alabama Crimson Tide back in 2021, but was a highly polarizing No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft due to his size. The doubters have been proven right so far, but the talent around him in Carolina can be blamed for a lot of his struggles as well.

While we wait to see what Carolina does in the future with Young, we know that Andy Dalton will be the guy for now as the Panthers try to kick-start their season.

I don’t hate the kid but I hated Alabama. He was good because he was surrounded by All -Americans. They handed Houston a gift. Oh well such is life . He will get something good in life just not Quarterback.
