Caitlin Clark Reacts to Boyfriend Connor McCaffery's Big Announcement

Caitlin Clark and Indiana Fever are riding high after defeating the Dallas Wings 110-109 on Sunday. Not only did the Fever clinch the No. 6 playoff seed, but Clark once again made WNBA history.

Clark, who broke the single-season record for assists during the Fever's loss to the Las Vegas Aces on Friday, broke the single-season all-time scoring rookie record against the Wings. Cheering Clark on as her name gets written in the league's history books, her boyfriend, Connor McCaffery.

McCaffery, who used played on the Iowa Hawkeyes men's basketball team, where his father, Fran McCaffery, is the head coach, joined the Indiana Pacers as a scout last year. Once the Pacers' summer season came a to close, the 26-year-old became regular at Clark's home games, proving to be his girlfriend's No. 1 fan.

However, it was Clark cheering for McCaffery on September 16, as he's officially leaving the Pacers for a new job.

Clark posted Butler's big announcement on her Instagram Stories and wrote, "yay!! so happy for you 🤍 @connor_m30."

McCaffery appears to be following in his father's footsteps, as he's taking over as the Bulldogs' assistant head coach. He will work alongside Thad Matta, who's head coach of the men's basketball team at Butler.

Clark, who celebrated her one-year anniversary with McCaffery last April, gets to keep her man close by with his new job. Butler University is located in Indianapolis, just 15-minute drive away from Gainbridge Fieldhouse, the Fever's home court.

For McCaffery, his new job in a true family affair. His younger brother, Patrick McCaffery, transferred from Iowa to join the Bulldogs for his sixth and final season. And their youngest brother, Jack McCaffery, who's entering his senior year of high school, verbally committed to play at Butler next season.
