Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning was the talk of college football after his performance in Week 3. Manning stepped in for the injured Quinn Ewers and finished the game with 223 passing yards, 53 yards rushing, and four total touchdowns.

However, another young player has consistently made plays for his team this season.

In the offseason, the Alabama Crimson Tide earned a commitment from former five-star receiver Ryan Williams. Per the On3 Industry Rankings , Williams was the No. 3 receiver from the 2024 class.

Williams dazzled in the season opener against Western Kentucky with 139 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He then produced 68 receiving yards and one touchdown against USF and 79 receiving yards and one touchdown against the Wisconsin Badgers.

On a recent edition of " Always College Football ," Greg McElroy gushed about the potential of Williams. He said that Williams was "far beyond" where a true freshman's maturity level should be.

"...Ryan Williams, at 17 years old, is a ridiculously talented player, and a guy who is so far beyond where he should be from a maturity standpoint is amazing," McElroy said. "17, but continues to be a go-to player in this offense. Once again, put him in the slot touchdown. On the slot fade, you can use him in a lot of different ways."

Williams' consistent level of production through three games has been impressive. He has 285 receiving yards heading into Week 4.

The team has a bye week in Week 4 but has its first SEC test in Week 5. Alabama will take on the Georgia Bulldogs on Sept. 28. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
