Red Raiders vs. Arizona State Sun Devils: Big 12 Opponent Preview

The Texas Tech Red Raiders kick off conference play in Week 4 with a matchup with new Big 12 member Arizona State as the Sun Devils come to town.

It's a tumultuous time in Tempe as the Sun Devils are dealing with NCAA sanctions amid their move to a new conference.

Former coach Herm Edwards was fired and found guilty of major NCAA recruiting violations and Kenny Dillingham took over last season and steered Arizona State to a 3-9 tally. Dillingham has his work cut out for him as he deals with a reduced number of scholarships - one of the NCAA sanctions for Edwards' violations.

But 2024 has been kinder to Dillingham and the Sun Devils as they've racked up wins over Wyoming, Mississippi State and Texas State and averaged 36 points per game in the process.
