Former number one overall pick Bryce Young was shockingly benched by the Carolina Panthers on Monday, one day after Carolina was defeated 26-3 by Justin Herbert, Jim Harbaugh and the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Panthers will turn to 36-year-old journeyman Andy Dalton against the Raiders in Las Vegas this coming Sunday, a surprising turn of events for a team that appeared set on riding the rollercoaster of the 23-year-old second year pro Young's ups and downs in the National Football League.

On Monday, NFL analyst and former Indianapolis Colts punter Pat McAfee shared a cold-blooded message for Young on the heels of his benching.

McAfee suggested that Young might have to go to another team to revive his career and find where he fits in, name-dropping Baker Mayfield of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Sam Darnold of the Minnesota Vikings as comparisons.

"I will say this to Bryce Young, seems like a cool dude, seems like a good guy, his Alabama highlights were certainly fantastic," McAfee said, adding that Young was not drafted by the Panthers' current regime under coach Dave Canales and that he was selected over CJ Stroud' who is having incredible success with the Houston Texans.

"There was always going to be questions about his size because of what it actually is, that's the reality of the situation. But this does not mean his career is over.

"No, no. Maybe a fresh start somewhere else (and) he finds his team.

"We're not saying it's over for Bryce Young but the start of (his career) has certainly sucked bad."

The problem seem to be his height, build him some stack heels 👠 cleats, so he can stand taller, the linemen are bigger and taller in the NFL, young is very talented.
