After being released by the Buffalo Bills during roster cutdowns in August, former Olympic gold medalist Gable Steveson is looking to keep his NFL dream alive. The defensive tackle worked out for the Baltimore Ravens on Monday following their disappointing Week 2 loss.

Steveson signed a three-year deal with the Bills back in May after his workout with the team. That workout also happened to be the first time that Steveson had ever put on cleats or played organized football.

Steveson recorded three total tackles in three preseason appearances with Buffalo. Following the preseason, the Bills released Steveson on Aug. 27 as they finalized their initial 53-man roster.

Before his NFL pursuit, the 24-year-old was a professional wrestler and even won gold in freestyle wrestling at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Steveson is also a three-time age-group world champion and a two-time NCAA Division 1 national champion at the University of Georgia.

Now, although he simply had a workout with Baltimore, Steveson will look to earn another chance in the league for a team that faces off against the Bills in Week 4. No deal is currently imminent between the two sides, so Steveson could potentially work out for other teams throughout the season.

While Steveson's story is a great one, the Bills likely aren't looking back much to the decisions made before the season, as they have begun the 2024 regular season 2-0 following a dominant win against the Miami Dolphins on Thursday.
