There is not a lot of positivity around the Chicago Bulls right now. They seem to be looking to start a rebuild, having parted ways with DeMar DeRozan and Alex Caruso this summer.

It is hard for the Bulls to truly start a rebuild though until they also find new teams for Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic. Achieving that is going to be a tough task.

LaVine's trade value has declined significantly due to a combination of recent injuries and his massive contract. He is set to make $138 million over the next three seasons.

On the other hand, Vucevic's game has been on the decline for a few years now and there does not seem to be a ton of trade interest in the 33-year-old center.

Amid all this, could the Bulls' 2024 draft pick Matas Buzelis, who was selected 11th overall, be a rare shining light for the franchise?

Paul George seems to be pretty convinced about Buzelis and what the 19-year-old can bring to the table for the Bulls.

While speaking with DeMar DeRozan on Podcast P , George said regarding Buzelis: "I also like the young guy Chicago actually just drafted. Matas. Bro, he going to be a hooper. I watched him in Summer League. I watched him a little bit when him and Cooper used to go at it."

George further went on to add about Buzelis: "He might be one of the like up-and-coming stars very soon. He can hoop. He got game."

That should be enough to excite Bulls fans about the potential Buzelis has. Someone of George's stature going out of his way to praise a rookie, not on his team, should say a lot.

Buzelis showed a ton of potential in the Summer League. Let's see how his game translates to the NBA. Some fans are viewing the 19-year-old as a sleeper pick for Rookie of the Year.
