    'Turtle' Excuses Jalen Brunson

Spike Lee naturally comes to mind when you think of New York Sports fans. However, for those who watched the hit HBO series Entourage in the 2000s, the character Turtle is someone many depend on for typical New Yorker commentary or projections in the media. What would Turtle do if he saw a New York Knicks point guard wearing Philadelphia Eagles gear on Monday Night Football?

The man behind the character, Jerry Ferrara, took to social media to defend Jalen Brunson for the "sin" of rooting for the "wrong team" as an honorary New Yorker.

"I could care less. Lifetime pass for this man," Ferrara claimed on X ( formerly known as Twitter).

The New York Knicks All-Star guard happens to be a Philadelphia Eagles fan. However, considering that he played four years with Villanova, it's quite understandable that he is a fan of the New York Giants 'division rival. Also, as long as Brunson produces wins, New York fans shouldn't have anything to say about his favorite team outside of the NBA.

Besides, the Eagles lost shockingly to the Atlanta Falcons on ESPN's Monday Night Football, 22-21. Hardcore New York sports fans can cope with Brunson's NFL allegiance by perceiving the Knicks point guard as an ironic jinx for their rival football team.

Many sports fans, as do athletes, share superstitious beliefs.

Furthermore, the Knicks are the current kings of the New York sports community. Once the NBA season starts and the Knicks continue their winning ways, fans will forget about their NFL team led by Daniel Jones.
