    CBS Shares Historic Chiefs-Bengals Announcement

Week 2 featured a lot of awesome games in the NFL, but the best of the bunch may have taken place between the Kansas City Chiefs and Cincinnati Bengals, with the reigning Super Bowl champs squeaking out a 26-25 victory.

This was the game of the week for CBS, as it started at 4:25 EST and had the network's top commentator pairing in Jim Nantz and Tony Romo on the call.

Given the recent history between these two teams, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise that there were millions of viewers tuning into this game. In fact, according to CBS, the Chiefs-Bengals Week 2 contest drew in the most viewers for a September game broadcast on their network since all the way back in 1998.

It's rare that regular season games this early into this season draw in this amount of viewers, but it's clear that the Chiefs and Bengals are a unique matchup.

Cincy is one of the only teams that has been able to thwart Patrick Mahomes and KC during their recent run, but they came up just short in their latest meeting.

And while the Bengals are now 0-2 to start the season, it ultimately wouldn't be a surprise if these two teams crossed paths again in the playoffs later on this year.
