    Previewing The New York Yankees’ Series Against The Seattle Mariners

    The New York Yankees start a three-game series against the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday.

    The two American League teams met for a four-game series at Yankee Stadium in May. The Mariners took the first two games of the series while the Bronx Bombers won the final two games.

    The Yankees have gained a commanding three-game lead in the AL East over the Baltimore Orioles as the season only has two weeks remaining. The team has won seven of its last 10, including two recent series victories over the Boston Red Sox and Kansas City Royals, two teams competing for Wild Card spots in the American League.

    The Mariners find themselves two games behind the Minnesota Twins for the final Wild Card spot. The Mariners are winners of three straight have come away victorious in eight of their last 11 games. The team has outscored their opponents 67-36 over that stretch.

    The Yankees and Mariners both have playoff implications on the line as they enter their weekday series.

    The expected starters and start times for the series can be found below.

    Tuesday : Luis Gil 13-6, 3.18 ERA vs. Bryan Woo 8-2, 2.38 ERA. First pitch is scheduled for 9:40 p.m.

    Wednesday : Nestor Cortes 9-10, 3.90 ERA vs. Bryce Miller 11-8, 3.12 ERA. First pitch is scheduled for 9:40 p.m.

    Thursday : Clarke Schmidt 5-3, 2.41 ERA vs. Logan Gilbert 7-11, 3.24 ERA. First pitch is scheduled for 4:10 p.m.
