Video Surfaces of Jordan Chiles’ Score Inquiry from 2024 Paris Olympics

Olympian Jordan Chiles took the next step in her quest to get her Olympic bronze medal back on Monday when she filed an official appeal with the Swiss Federal Tribunal to overrule the Court of Arbitration for Sport’s ruling that nullified her score inquiry from the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The CAS originally ruled that Chiles’ score inquiry during the floor exercise in Paris was submitted four seconds after the one-minute window allowed for score inquiries by International Gymnastics Federation.

However, USA Gymnastics claims it had video evidence that Chiles’ score inquiry was actually submitted within that one-minute window, and that video that was submitted with Chiles’ appeal found its way to social media.

In the one-minute and 38-second clip, multiple angles are shown of the incident and it’s clear that USAG coach Cecile Landi’s inquiry request was submitted multiple times within 60 seconds of Chiles’ score being announced.

Then at 15:32:40, Landi can be heard saying “inquiry for Jordan.” She repeats her request again at 15:32:48 before the camera shows her leaving the judge’s table at the 15:32:55 mark, providing irrefutable proof that Chiles’ inquiry was done within the one-minute window.

Fortunately for USAG, it had access to video clips to submit as evidence thanks to Simone Biles.

Production company Religion of Sports was on hand to film Biles for Part II of the Netflix docuseries “Simone Biles: Rising," and the crew just happened to capture the incident on camera.
