The Las Vegas Raiders showed themselves to be a potential force by traveling to Baltimore and besting the Ravens down the stretch in Week 2, but the QB situation remains precarious.

Gardner Minshew has been fine, throwing for 533 yards, 2 TDs and 2 INTs through two games while leading the NFL in completion percentage (77.5%) and overall completions (55), per Pro Football Reference .

However, if the Raiders believe they can break through and capture a wildcard berth, the notion of Minshew carrying them to an AFC Championship Game or the Super Bowl still seems like a stretch.

Considering how good the roster is around Minshew, ESPN's Mina Kimes offered a trade proposal on the Tuesday, September 17 edition "NFL Live" that would land Las Vegas a Super Bowl winning quarterback in the form of Matthew Stafford , currently of the Los Angeles Rams .

The Arizona Cardinals obliterated the Rams on Sunday, as injuries have obliterated L.A.'s offensive line in recent weeks. Considering Stafford's age, 36, and all the money remaining on his $160 million contract -- combined with an 0-2 start and a roster ravaged by health issues -- Kimes theorized that the Rams might be in a position to sell high on Stafford now to a team that could move into contender status with a QB upgrade.

And the Raiders may fit that bill.

“If they were to make that decision, okay what teams are we talking about? I’m gonna pitch one to you guys -- the Raiders,” Kimes said . “Watching the first two weeks, that is a very, very good defense. Davante Adams is still one of the best wide receivers in the NFL. [Tight end] Brock Bowers looks like a dude. Imagine Matthew Stafford [with those guys].”

The Rams' asking price for Stafford, if they would be willing to move him, is unclear. However, it would likely be substantial considering that he was a Pro Bowler last year and took Los Angeles to the playoffs in 2021 and 2023, winning the Super Bowl following the 2021 campaign.
