Aaron Judge has a historic lead for the league’s top RBI total.

The captain drove in four runs in the New York Yankees’ 11-2 victory on Tuesday against the Seattle Mariners. That brought his RBI total to 136 for the season. Shohei Ohtani has the next-highest total in the majors with 110 runs driven in. Judge’s 26-RBI lead over the rest of MLB is the largest difference in the stat since Ted Williams had 30 more RBIs than the next highest total in September of 1942.

Williams finished the 1942 season with 137 runs batted in. Joe DiMaggio had the next-highest total with 110 RBIs. The Red Sox Hall-of-Famer won the triple crown and while finishing second in the MVP voting that year.

Judge’s 136 RBIs are already a career-high. He drove in 131 runs during his American League MVP season in 2022. The captain also had triple-digit RBIs in his rookie season in 2017.

He also leads the majors in a number of other categories. Judge’s 53 homers, .456 on-base percentage, .692 slugging percentage, 1.149 OPS, and 9.8 WAR all lead MLB as well.

The outfielder has been on a tear over his last four games. He hit a grand slam in the Bronx Bombers’ 5-4 win against the Red Sox on Friday. Judge also drove in two runs with a home run in Sunday’s victory.

Judge is on pace to finish the season with 145 RBIs as the team has 11 games remaining during the regular season.
