The Washington Mystics (13-26) face a must-win scenario in their season finale Thursday night against the Caitlin Clark -led Indiana Fever (20-19).

The Mystics are one of three teams vying for the final eighth seed in the postseason, but they'll need some help. To clinch a playoff spot, they must defeat the Fever, have the 14-25 Atlanta Dream lose to the New York Liberty , and they lastly need a Chicago Sky win.

With significant playoff implications on the line and a matchup against the most popular team in the WNBA , the Mystics announced a major change ahead of Thursday's clash.

They have moved the game from their home arena, the Entertainment & Sports Arena in Washington D.C., to Capital One Arena, where the Washington Wizards play, for this primetime matchup.

While the season hasn’t gone exactly as planned for the Mystics, they have an opportunity on Thursday night to leave the regular season behind and start fresh at 0-0 if they can secure a playoff spot.

In contrast, the Fever are one of the hottest teams in the league since the Olympic hiatus, winning nine of their last 13 games and clinching a playoff berth for the first time since 2016.
