The Thursday Night Football matchup between the New York Jets and New England Patriots was a highly-anticipated divisional matchup, but the talk of the game has been about longtime NFL broadcaster Al Michaels.

Michaels has been one of the most popular NFL broadcasters over the years, delivering some iconic lines and calling some historic games. That said, fans are starting to feel as though he should move on from broadcasting as he isn't the same broadcaster he once was.

Some fans, in particular, have taken to Twitter or "X" to voice their frustration with his performance on this Thursday Night Football broadcast.

One user, @cappnrt, said "I can't do Al Michaels anymore. He's gotta go."

Another fan with the user @hidenpharoah added "It's time for Al Michaels to hang it up."

A more harsh tweet was also posted by @okcowboysbraves, coming after Amazon Prime, saying "Idk what Amazon Prime was thinking hiring Al Michaels."

Another brutal tweet was added by user @justinmiller27, saying "I don't know how Kirk Herbstreit doesn't fall asleep sitting next to Al Michaels. I think it's time Al calls it quits."

Unfortunately for Michaels, it appears that NFL fans are in agreement on what his future should hold. Some people could certainly be more respectful with how they handled the situation, but it could be time for Michaels to give retirement some thought.
