Quarterback Announcement Made Ahead of Utah vs. Oklahoma State

After missing their Week 3 game with a hand injury, there's a chance that the No. 12 Utah Utes could be without quarterback Cam Rising for their Week 4 game against No. 14 Oklahoma State.

According to a report by ESPN's Pete Thamel, Rising is a "game-time decision" due to an injury sustained on his throwing hand, which forced him to leave Utah's Week 2 game against Baylor.

"Rising has been limited in practice this week with the injury, and he is not expected to be 100% if he does play," Thamel wrote . "He will be monitored closely to see how his injured fingers impact how he throws. The fingers play a huge role in both spin and velocity, which will impact his effectiveness in the passing game."

Both in Week 2 and Week 3, the Utes turned to true freshman Isaac Wilson, who is the younger brother of Denver Broncos quarterback Zach Wilson.

Rising's injury occurred after he was shoved out of bounds and plowed into the water jugs on the Baylor sideline. The seventh-year senior did warm up with a glove on his hand last week ahead of the Utah State game, but ultimately did not play.

Suspicions of his status were raised earlier this week as Utah went from being favored in the game to 2.5-point underdogs.

Most analysts around the country don't foresee the Big 12 getting multiple teams into the College Football Playoff, so this game has significant implications on each team's ceiling. The loser will have little-to-no room for error for the rest of the season.

they should be used to that, he's always hurt, they definitely need a more durable quarterback, can't go anywhere with him!
