A'ja Wilson had another all-around output to lead the Las Vegas Aces over the Seattle Storm, 78-67, in Game 1 of their best-of-three first-round series in the playoffs on Sunday.

Wilson tallied game-highs of 21 points and five blocks on top of eight rebounds and two assists in an inspired performance on the night she was named the league's unanimous MVP. The 28-year-old star received all 67 first-place votes.

Minnesota Lynx forward Napheesa Collier, who finished in second place, congratulated Wilson for her third MVP plum. But she also issued a stern warning to the Aces veteran.

"It feels good to get (No. 2 in the MVP race)," Collier said in a report from ESPN's Myron Medcalf . "Really, kudos to (Wilson). She had an amazing year. I think she deserves to get MVP.

"Obviously, I'm going to come for her next year and do my best again. But it was really fun."

The 28-year-old Collier averaged 20.4 points and career-highs of 9.7 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.9 steals and 1.4 blocks per game as she became even more of a well-rounded player. She led the Lynx to the league's second-best record at 30-10.

She was drafted a year after Wilson in 2018, and since then, they've been widely considered as two of the WNBA's best versatile frontline players.

Collier led the Lynx to a 102-95 win over the Phoenix Mercury in Game 1 of their first-round matchup with a playoff career-high 38 points.

you know, the Ace’s are looked at like a super team of high level players but i see it different, they are just a level i’ve HS players maybe College, all they have is 3 pt shots & maybe a half assed push to the Hoop, they are just over rated & pushed upon the public as a super team, there just a basketball team with some birth high women that have an advantage, let’s be real when you watch them play!
