Red Raiders vs. Arizona Wildcats Kickoff Time Announced

The Big 12 has announced the kickoff time for the Texas Tech Red Raiders' Big 12 matchup with the Arizona Wildcats on Oct. 5.

The Red Raiders will travel to Tucson for their third conference game of the season, and the Big 12 announced a kickoff time of 10 p.m. CT. It's the second late-night kickoff for Texas Tech after a 9 p.m. CT kickoff against the Washington State Cougars back on Sept. 7 that resulted in a 37-16 loss for the Red Raiders.

The 10 p.m. kick time ties the second-latest kickoff time in school history after the 2014 game vs. UTEP which also kicked off at 10 p.m. local time. The latest kick time in program history was at 11 p.m. CT when the Red Raiders faced the Oklahoma State Cowboys in Tokyo, Japan for the 1988 Coca-Cola Bowl.

The two are new counterparts in the Big 12 but are not strangers.

From 1932 through the 1956 season, both programs were part of the Border Conference. The Red Raiders hold a 26-5-2 record against the Wildcats. It's just the second time the programs have met since 1989. Arizona beat Texas Tech 28-14 in 2019 in Tucson.

Saturday's game against Cincinnati at Jones AT&T Stadium ends a three-game homestand that has seen the Red Raiders outscore their opponents 96-43 across two games vs. North Texas and Arizona State.
