What To Make of Latest News Between Jets - Haason Reddick

The current contract stand-off between the New York Jets and Haason Reddick has taken an interesting turn.

And the only person to blame for that is Aaron Rodgers.

Speaking on the Pat McAfee show on ESPN on Tuesday, Rodgers spoke about Reddick's absence away from the team, and how it directly coincided with a report coming out of The Athletic calling the Jets franchise a team in "disarray."

“Just reading that headline there, it sounds like it was written by Haason Reddick’s agent,” Rodgers said. “Former agent, I guess, possibly. In a way to disparage our great organization."

Wait...did Haason Reddick change his agency? And was Rodgers the one who broke the story?

While Reddick's agent, Tory Dandy has not confirmed whether or not the Pro Bowler is still his client, it is an interesting wrinkle to the current negotiations - or lack thereof for the Jets.

Reddick tweeted out "God will always make a way," last week. It was the kind of cryptic tweet that athletes holding out usually put forth.

Could Reddick's tweet mean more now that Rodgers may have spilled the beans on whether or not he has changed agents?

Dandy represented two other clients who sat out during training camp in search of new deals including CeeDee Lamb and Reddick. Lamb was given a contract before the regular season began.

Could there have been a situation where Dandy was looking to get a deal done with the Jets, and Reddick remained adamant that there would be no changes going forward?

It certainly seems plausible with the 29-year-old edge rusher seemingly pleased to sit back and sit out of games in what is his final year under contract.

As Jets fans wait and see what happens between Reddick and the organization, Rodgers' latest comments add a new wrinkle to the whole conversation.
