Aaron Rodgers poured more gasoline on the fire for the New York Jets Tuesday afternoon on the Pat McAfee show.

In his weekly spot, the Jets' franchise quarterback tried to defend his team's honor regarding a previous report from The Athletic regarding agents calling New York a franchise in "disarray."

What Rodgers ended up doing was potentially hurting the Jets in a current negotiation right now.

“Just reading that headline there, it sounds like it was written by Haason Reddick’s agent,” Rodgers said. “Former agent, I guess, possibly. In a way to disparage our great organization.

“I would say the culture here is the opposite of what that headline said."

Rodgers used that comment to show that he had his team's back during an anonymous source using the Jets as a punching bag of sorts. It also adds a new wrinkle to the current negotiations between Haason Reddick and the Jets.

It's also the wrong thing the quarterback could have said in that regard.

By bringing Reddick and his current holdout into the conversation, the Jets are now in a position to negotiate with a player who feels further disrespected by the team.

What would want to get Reddick in the building now that the quarterback is essentially mocking his representation? Whatever the real case, the Jets have a new issue on their hands and it is entirely the doing of their franchise quarterback.

I'm with AR. We want players who want to be here. Reddick just wants to get paid without reporting to work. It doesn't work that way. Show up to work and let your play speak for itself. Reddick is only hurting himself.

I’m with Rodgers on this. Fuck Hassan what Rodgers did was give Hassan an out by allowing him to blame his agent.
